Lee to Star in AMC’s Drama ‘Halt & Catch Fire’

Mar 7 • by Ursa • No CommentsLee News

From Deadline:

Lee Pace is set as a lead of AMC‘s drama pilot Halt & Catch Fire, from Breaking Bad executive producer Mark Johnson. Also starring in the pilot, written by Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers, is Mackenzie Davis (Breathe In). Juan José Campanella is set to direct. Set in the early 1980s, Halt & Catch Fire dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a Mackenzie Davisvisionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas’ Silicon Prairie.

TVline reports Lee will play confident and powerful Joe, the smartest guy in the room who is two steps ahead of both his allies and his enemies. Once a superstar salesman at IBM, Joe recently departed under mysterious circumstances only to resurface at a Dallas tech company called Cardiff Giant. It’s here that he demonstrates an ability to masterfully seize control, even as his demons continuously threaten to rear up at the most inopportune times.

Ilze’s story of meeting Lee

Jan 20 • by Ursa • No CommentsLee News

Ilze kindly shared her story of meeting Lee with us:

I was amongst the few and proud who had the opportunity to meet Lee Pace after a riveting performance of The Golden Age on January 12! As soon as he emerged from the stage door, I (as my friend says) “pounced” and asked him for a picture. While my friend got his camera ready, I thanked Lee for Soldier’s Girl. He smiled widely and said that was his first and favorite role. I told him I’d watched it 13 times that week, to which he responded, “That’s great…wait, this week?!” We both laughed and luckily my friend was able to capture that amazing moment in this photo.

Here’s a lovely photo of Ilze and Lee:

Lee Pace snaps a photo with a fan backstage

Laura shared a photo of herself with Lee, that was taken at Manhattan Theatre Club yesterday. She wrote that Lee Pace was even more beautiful in person and that the play was amazing. Seems like Laura also liked how Lee sang in Italian and wore tight pants. When they talked backstage he told her the Fall was (in his opinion) the most beautiful movie (in every way) and it’s also the movie that he was the most proud of.

Lee listed as one of the ten surefire A-listers by 2015

May 20 • by Gel • 2 CommentsLee News

Videoeta has listed Lee as one of their ten surefire a-listers by 2015. They speak the truth!

Lee is no ordinary face in the crowd for those of us who watched him every week as the Pie Maker in Pushing Daisies. But for most of the world, he is a complete unknown for the time being. That will all change later this year when he shows up in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Not only will he pop back up in Part 2 next year, but he also scored a coveted role in another two-part blockbuster The Hobbit. On the strength of those four movies alone, Lee Pace will be a household name by 2015.

Lee cast in “The Hobbit”!

Eee! As a LOTR fan, this is some exciting news!

I’m also pleased to announce that Lee Pace will be playing the Elven King Thranduil. Casting these Tolkien stories is very difficult, especially the Elven characters, and Lee has always been our first choice for Thranduil. He’s going to be great.  We loved his performance in a movie called “The Fall” a few years ago, and have been hoping to work with him since.  When we were first discussing who would be right for Thranduil, Lee came into mind almost immediately.
