Updates on Lee Pace (why he didn’t attend ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ world premiere)

Dec 3 • by Ursa • No CommentsLee News, the Hobbit

I hope you all enjoyed The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug worldwide redcarpet premiere yesterday. If you didn’t get to see it yet, you can watch the recorded version bellow.

Many fans have been wondering why Lee Pace wasn’t seen in Los Angeles yesterday. The answer is simple – he is filming Halt & Catch Fire in Atlanta. I (unfortunately) had no information regarding his appearance, but hoped he could make it and be there with the rest of the cast and crew. Anyway, we should be happy he’s busy working on another project!

Here’s a photo he took with a fan in Atlanta on December 1, 2013.

Lee Pace joins Lance Armstrong biopic

Nov 25 • by Ursa • No CommentsLee News

Lee Pace has been confirmed to join Stephen Frears’ still-untitled Lance Armstrong biopic, The Wrap reports. The currently shooting film stars Ben Foster in the main role, while Chris O’Dowd portrays the journalist David Walsh, who wrote Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong, the book this film is going to be based on. We also know that Jesse Plemons and Guillaume Canet have supporting roles, while Lee’s role remains under the wraps.
The official synopsis can be read bellow.

The film charts the thrilling rise of pro-cyclist Lance Armstrong through the 90s and early 2000s, battling cancer, as he and his fellow American teammates dominate and change the quintessentially European sport of cycling. Winning the Tour de France an unprecedented seven times, Lance retires as one of the great sporting heroes of our time, and worth millions of dollars. David Walsh, sports writer, is at first charmed by Lance’s charisma and talent. Seven Tours later, and ostracised by the cycling community for speaking out, he believes the world is being sold a lie. A lone voice, it is several years before Lance is exposed.

The shooting will take place in France and the UK.

Lee Pace considers joining twitter

Sep 25 • by Ursa • No CommentsLee News

According to James Gunn, Lee’s thinking of joining one of the most popular social networks. Guardians of the Galaxy director answered some fan questions on his spring.me page. “He’s awesome. Lee has been working a lot lately,” he said. “He considers going on twitter often and then backs out of it. In all fairness, it’s probably the healthy decision,” Gunn revealed. Hopefully, Lee’s going to change his mind soon.

Lee Pace’s costume in Guardians of the Galaxy revealed

Sep 25 • by Ursa • 5 CommentsLee News

We haven’t heard much about Guardians of Galaxy lately, but there are finally some news out. The official production still featuring Lee Pace as Ronan and Karen Gillan as Nebula have been taken by British photographer James Beddoes a week ago. He posted on Instagram: “Can’t believe I just got to look at official production still from Guardians of the Galaxy of Ronan and Nebula! I can’t describe how cool they look and how much it made my day!” He says the costumes look amazing and “Lee Pace is going to be amazing as Ronan, he looks even cooler then Thanos did in Avengers!” When being asked how Lee looks like as Ronan, James kindly described what he’s seen, “He has a lot of prosthetics on his forehead and chin but you can tell it’s his face, his skin is a similar blue colour to mystique in the X-men films!”

Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill / Star-Lord, shared on twitter that only 14 days of principal photography remain. “As of today we are 83.1325301% finished with #GOTG 69/83=X/100 Rithmatic,” he posted.

We also have a shot of Guardians of Galaxy film crew T-shirt (pictured right). Looks great, doesn’t it?

Guardians of the Galaxy is slated for release on Aug. 1, 2014.

Potential ‘Hannibal’ role

Jul 30 • by Ursa • No CommentsLee News

Hannibal has a very successful season behind and maybe we’ll get to see Mr. Pace in the second one.
Showrunner Bryan Fuller, who has created Pushing Daisies, told E! that he’d love to work again with some of the actors: “I talked to Lee Pace about doing a role on [‘Hannibal’] this season. But he was doing a stage play and so we’re planning to work that out with season two. He’s definitely interested in doing the show and I would love to work with him again. I also very much want to work with Anna Friel again, and Kristin Chenoweth clearly has to play someone in the Boston arts scene. Perhaps an opera singer. So we are hoping to make that all happen.”

It is now confirmed: Lee is going to play Ronan The Accuser in Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Den of Geek reports. Ronan The Accuser first popped up in Fantastic Four comics. He’s a member of the Kree, an alien race, and has a fair number of superhuman powers. While originally a villain, he has shown a more heroic side, too.

Lee, Benicio Del Toro and Karen Gillan round out a trio of villains set to go head to head against the Guardians in the movie.

I am still not home but got some internet and wanted to update the site.
