There’s also a short interview with Lee on the last page of the article.

Will you have more scenes in Desolation of Smaug?
Surely. The King of the Woodland Realm is an important figure in Middle Earth. He’s extremely powerful and he has an enormous army. He’s in bad terms with the dwarves. He’s disgusted by their wealth sickness: he knows their greed will evoke an evil force. Elves are some sort of angel warriors, they live in harmony with nature: but their forest is dark and corrupted by the dragon, for this reason my character has a dark soul.

Which is your trick to play an elf?
Apart from the elvish speaking, there is also a body language that must communicate union with nature. For this reason it’s essential for us to move as if we were in water. Thranduil can perceive anything happening in his forest, he’s a great warrior, but he’s like a matador: he doesn’t just want to kill the bull, he wants it to suffer.

And about the make up?
What do you mean? That I’m not naturally beautiful? [laugh] The make up for the elves is easier than the one for the dwarves, it only requires an hour and a half: contact lens, wig, pointed ears. But I have a very uncomfortable crown, especially for the fighting scenes.

How is Thranduil’s relationship with Legolas?
They’re very different, even though they are father and son. Thranduil wants to control his realm and stay isolated from the rest of the world, while Legolas wants to commits himself. This is a very typical father/son relationship! There is a lot [of relationships] in The Hobbit, and this is interesting.

After Lee Pace finished filming Guardians of the Galaxy in London less than two weeks ago, he shared with Click his thoughts on twitter and superstrong humanoid he’s playing in his most recent project. “He’s a fucking psycho!” Lee says about Ronan, laughing. “He’s a real monster. I’ve had the best time playing this character. I’m glad its all on film and I never thought I could be so nuts in it!”

The American actor says working with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has helped to bring out the monster in him. “James Gunn is just putting together a phenomenal movie and I’ve had the best time working with him on it. And yea we’ve made a monster of an alien!”

lee pace social media twitterWe’ve recently found out Lee is considering joining twitter, but according to Click, he’s still wary of it.

“Yea he [James Gunn]and Dave Bautistahave really been on that trying to get me to join. I’ve gone back and forth about it but I still haven’t heard a convincing reason to join it,” Lee told in his newest interview.

He doesn’t like the idea of using it under a different name either, “I guess that’s the point of Twitter and its probably why I’m not on there! [laughs] No I’ve always been curious. I’m fascinated with the technology of it, I love technmology. I’m fascinated with the way millions of people can communicate with millions of other people all at the same time. It is a revolutionary idea, its fascinating to me!”

What reasons would you give to Lee for joining one of the largest social media sites?
